Prepare The Rice


Loco Moco is a beloved Hawaiian dish featuring a juicy beef patty served over a bed of fluffy white rice, topped with a fried egg. Preparation

  1. Prepare The Rice

    • Cook the white rice according to the package instructions. Keep warm.
  2. Prepare the Brown Butter Onions

    • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown. This should take about 20-25 minutes. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the Seared Spam

    • In the same skillet, add the Spam slices and cook until they are browned and crispy on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Set aside.
  4. Prepare the Gravy

    • Prepare the Knorr® Professional Turkey Gravy according to the package instructions. Keep warm.
  5. Fry the Eggs

    • In a separate skillet, fry the eggs sunny side up or to your preferred doneness. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. Assemble the Loco Moco

    • On each plate, place a mound of cooked rice.
    • Top the rice with a smashed burger patty.
    • Add a slice of seared Spam on top of the burger.
    • Spoon a generous amount of brown butter onions over the Spam.
    • Pour the Knorr® Professional Turkey Gravy over the entire stack.
    • Place a fried egg on top of the gravy.
    • Garnish with chopped green onions.
    • Serve your Loco Moco in a deep bowl to catch all the delicious gravy, and garnish with chopped green onions for a fresh, vibrant touch.
