  1. Prepare the dish

    • In a pot heat up the canola oil, add in the rice and begin to toast. 
    • Season with the Caldo de Vegetales and achiote powder. 
    •  Add the water and let it come to a quick boil. Once it has started to boil turn the heat to low, and cover with a lid. 
    • Let the rice cook for 15 minutes. 
    • Once the rice has cooked, let it rest for 5 minutes with the lid on. 
    • Serve as a side with your favorite Mexican dishes. Enjoy!
